About
The city of Tampa is the largest city in Hillsborough County. With its seemingly endless miles of waterfront and sandy beaches, it’s no surprise that it is the third most populous city in Florida!
But Tampa is more than just beaches. Here you will find a mix of nature, history, culture and leisure. Whether your vacation plans are napping on beautiful beaches or discovering new places, you will find your perfect getaway in Tampa. There’s something for all ages!
Apart from the assortment of golf courses, fishing piers and bike paths scattered among the beaches, there are a plenty of excuses to stop, stretch a little, and get your feet moving.
Discover cute seashell shops, street corners with charming little huts and houses serving just-made ice cream or freshly smoked fish, and the many observation points along the beaches where you can see dolphins! For those whose preferences run to parks and museums, the city of Tampa is also known for some of the best attractions in the state, including the famous Busch Gardens, a huge theme park
with amusement rides and a wildlife park, as well as the Florida Aquarium and the Lowry Park Zoo. The Tampa area, however, is mainly distinguished by a rich mix of cultures resulting from its variety of inhabitants—which is felt everywhere, especially in the music and the food of this beautiful city. Linger in an open-air cafe or choose the party atmosphere of the Channelside or Ybor City neighborhoods. Take a relaxing stroll along the historic Ybor City district’s main street, and you’ll discover the city’s best restaurants and nightclubs. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Seventh Avenue has a festive atmosphere and becomes a lively pedestrian street (the police even closes it to traffic between 13th and 20th Street)
While other cities only offer summer festivals, in the Tampa area, you’ll find something to do every weekend, from the Gasparilla Pirate Fest Sunset Music Festival and the Tampa Bay Margarita Festival in the spring to the magnificent fall festivals. Viva la fiesta! And viva Tampa!
