As Florida’s west coast benchmark for seaside resorts, Naples has everything you need for a dream vacation!
Naples was founded in 1887 by wealthy businessmen from Kentucky, one of whom was newspaperman Walter N. Haldeman, who saw the potential of Florida’s west coast, which was undeveloped at the time. These same businessmen also founded the “Naples Town Improvement Company” with the plan of building a town based on tourism and sea commerce. In just one year, the new city of Naples had a general store, a post office, a hotel and a population of about 80. With this, Naples was born!
Bordered by the Gulf of Mexico, Naples is the perfect destination to fall in love again or simply spend time with family. Its miles of white sandy beaches invite immediate relaxation, and you will be swiftly captivated!
If you enjoy being on the water, head to the marina and choose from a myriad of outings. From dolphin watching and deep-sea fishing to watching a beautiful sunset on the water—the choice is yours.
Golf enthusiasts rejoice! Naples is home to more than 90 golf courses. Though some clubs are for members only, they offer access to
tourists in the low season, from April to December. No matter what your level of play, you will be spoiled by the choices. Traveling with children? The Naples Zoo is an excellent option. There you can see lions, monkeys, kangaroos, and various rare snake and iguana species. When you’re done visiting the animals, take a walk in the beautiful botanical garden or catch one of the many animal shows that children of all ages will love.
Power shoppers will delight in a visit to Fifth Avenue South where they will discover antique shops and jewelers, as well as furniture and clothing boutiques. Take a stroll through Tin City and experience the many charming boutiques and jewelers in their beautiful wooden shops, all while walking along the seaside.
Tin City is also home to excellent restaurants where you can indulge in incredible seafood. The city’s sophisticated and luxurious character, sunny white beaches, architectural grandeur and endless list of activities will make your vacation in Naples unforgettable!
